French Onion Soup Mix
RC French Onion Soup Mix is a pre-measured combination of dehydrated onions and beef base that yields a flavorful soup when reconstituted with water and simmered. This dry product has a long shelf life and requires only minimal storage space. It is also available with no added monosodium glutamate (MSG).
Product Usage
To prepare, add the product to water and simmer until the onions are tender, about 30 minutes. The soup may be enhanced with sautéed onions or wine.
A popular method of serving onion soup is au gratin. Slices of toasted French or Italian bread are placed in the bottom of the crock or bowl, and then the soup is poured over the slices. Gruyère or mozzarella cheese is sprinkled over the contents, and the container is placed under the broiler until the cheese is bubbling and brown.
