Potato Pancake Mix

 

A dry mix containing shredded Idaho potatoes, eggs, seasonings and leavening agents. This complete mix requires only water to produce a ready-to-use potato pancake batter. To make pancakes, prepared batter should be spooned into hot shortening or oil in a fry pan or on a griddle and browned on both sides.

Product Usage

This mix produces a delicious homestyle potato pancake. For variation, batter may be enhanced with shredded vegetables, chopped walnuts or herbs. Some other usage ideas are use as a batter for fish before frying, add cooked flaked fish and fry to prepare fish cakes, or place batter in a greased pan and bake for a potato kugel casserole. Prepared batter may be refrigerated and used as needed.
